FAQS - Frequently Asked Questions
The Interoperability Services Platform provides web services that are used by employers, or their representatives, through HR management software to establish direct and secure data communication with the Direct Social Security.
Such a situation is not possible. Available services are accessible through HR management software.
If the software does not integrate them, it will be necessary to develop communication with the services.
In order to use the Interoperability Services Platform, you must first join the Direct Social Security (SSD). After joining, you will have automatic access to PSI services using SSD credentials.
To test the services available on the Interoperability Services Platform you will need to access the Quality environment, where you can test the services without having an impact on reality. The existing services in the two environments – Production and Quality – are the same.
The existing data in the Quality Environment are those that each of the entities inserts in the course of the tests that it carries out on the platform's services, complemented with copies of the production data, to ensure greater trust and security before any passage to production.
To carry out tests, in Quality Environment, you must express your intention to the Institute of Informatics, I.P.
For this purpose you must request access through the following email address: suporte-psi@seg-social.pt This includes the following data:
• Social Security Identification Number (NISS);
• Identification of the person making the request: name and telephone contact
The Quality Environment of the Interoperability Services Platform may present moments of unavailability daily between 12h and 15h/16h, so it is advisable to access this environment outside this time period.
The Error 401 indicates that authentication failed. We recommend that you check that the password you entered is correct.
Test your Direct Social Security (SSD) login and, if successful, use the same password to access the platform.
If the error persists, update your password on the SSD and try again to access the platform with the new credentials.
Error 403 indicates that access to the service is not allowed. Consult the technical support suporte-psi@seg-social.pt to check if you have permissions to use the service.
Under the new contribution model, communications made by employers to determine the contribution rate applicable to workers, as well as to determine their remuneration and contributions, must be made through the Interoperability Services Platform, with the exception of entities that have fewer than 10 workers - Regulatory Decree No. 7/2025, of 9 December, Article 13-A.
